A juicy bacon cheeseburger topped with melty cheese, crispy fried onions, and classic fixings for a flavorful, satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 4 slices cheddar or American cheese
  • 6 slices cooked bacon
  • 1 cup crispy fried onions
  • 4 burger buns, toasted
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Tomato slices
  • Pickles (optional)
  • Ketchup, mayo, or burger sauce
  • 1 tbsp butter or oil for cooking

Instructions

  1. Season the ground beef with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Form into 4 equal patties, slightly larger than the buns.
  2. Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat and add butter or oil.
  3. Cook patties for 3–4 minutes per side, or until desired doneness.
  4. Place cheese slices on top of patties during the last minute of cooking and let melt.
  5. Toast burger buns lightly on the skillet or grill.
  6. Assemble the burgers: spread sauce on the bottom bun, add lettuce and tomato, then place the cheeseburger patty on top.
  7. Add bacon strips and a generous handful of crispy fried onions.
  8. Finish with pickles and the top bun. Serve warm.

Notes

  • For extra juiciness, avoid pressing down on the patties while cooking.
  • Use brioche buns for a richer burger experience.
  • Caramelized onions can be substituted for crispy onions.
  • Top with jalapeños for a spicy version.
