Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 8 chicken drumsticks
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar or rice vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Chopped parsley or green onions for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking dish or sheet with foil and lightly grease it.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, garlic, vinegar, black pepper, onion powder, and paprika.
  3. Pat drumsticks dry and place them in the prepared baking dish. Drizzle olive oil over them and toss to coat.
  4. Pour the honey garlic sauce over the drumsticks, turning to coat evenly.
  5. Bake for 35–40 minutes, flipping once halfway through, until the chicken is cooked through and the skin is golden and sticky. Internal temperature should reach 165°F (74°C).
  6. Optional: broil for 2–3 minutes at the end for crispier skin.
  7. Garnish with chopped parsley or green onions before serving.

Notes

  • Marinate chicken for up to 8 hours for deeper flavor.
  • Serve with rice, mashed potatoes, or roasted vegetables.
  • Use low-sodium soy sauce to reduce salt content.
