Beef and Mushroom Bites with Sauce is a savory dish of seared beef cubes and sautéed mushrooms in a creamy, flavorful mustard-infused sauce. Perfect as an appetizer or main, it delivers elegance and heartiness in every bite.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lb beef sirloin or tenderloin, cut into bite-sized cubes
  • 8 oz fresh mushrooms (button or cremini), halved or sliced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tbsp Dijon or whole grain mustard
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear beef cubes until browned on all sides. Remove and set aside.
  2. In the same pan, melt butter. Add mushrooms and sauté for 5–7 minutes until golden and tender.
  3. Add garlic and onion; cook until soft and fragrant, about 2–3 minutes.
  4. Deglaze the pan with Worcestershire sauce, scraping up browned bits.
  5. Pour in heavy cream and stir in mustard. Simmer until the sauce thickens slightly.
  6. Return beef to the pan and toss to coat in the sauce. Simmer for 2–3 minutes just to warm through.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Do not overcook the beef; sear briefly and warm gently in sauce.
  • Use fresh mushrooms for best texture and flavor.
  • Add herbs like thyme or rosemary for extra depth.
  • Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or bread to soak up the sauce.
  • Use a splash of red wine for richer flavor if preferred over Worcestershire.
