Ingredients
Scale
4 cups broccoli florets
6 slices bacon, chopped
2 tbsp olive oil
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 small onion, thinly sliced
1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
Salt and black pepper, to taste
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 tbsp lemon juice (optional, for brightness)
Instructions
Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Cook chopped bacon until crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and set aside, leaving about 1 tbsp bacon fat in the skillet.
Add olive oil to the skillet. Sauté broccoli and onion over medium-high heat for 5–7 minutes until broccoli is tender and slightly caramelized.
Add garlic and red pepper flakes, cooking for 1 minute until fragrant.
Season with salt and pepper. Stir in the cooked bacon.
Remove from heat and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and lemon juice, if using.
Serve hot as a side dish or light main course.
Notes
For extra flavor, roast broccoli in the oven before tossing into the skillet.
You can substitute pancetta for bacon.
Best served immediately for maximum crispiness and flavor.
