Ingredients

1lb ground beef or beef/pork blend
1 egg
1/2cup breadcrumbs
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 small onion, grated or finely chopped
2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
1 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
12 mozzarella cheese cubes (about 1/2 inch)
1/4cup grated Parmesan cheese
2cups tomato sauce
1 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a large bowl, combine ground meat, egg, breadcrumbs, garlic, onion, parsley, oregano, salt, pepper, and Parmesan. Mix until fully incorporated.
Take a small amount of meat mixture and form into a ball, pressing a cube of mozzarella into the center. Seal well.
Place meatballs into a greased baking dish and spoon tomato sauce over them.
Bake for 25–30 minutes or until meatballs are cooked through and cheese is melted inside.
Garnish with additional Parmesan and parsley before serving.
Notes
Use lean ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version.
Try provolone or gouda as cheese alternatives.
Chili flakes or hot sauce can add a spicy kick.
Seal the meatballs well to keep cheese from leaking out.
