Cheesy Baked Spinach Meatballs are a hearty, flavor-packed dish combining tender ground meat, earthy spinach, zesty marinara sauce, and gooey melted cheese, ideal for appetizers, main courses, or party platters.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey
  • 2 cups fresh spinach, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. Sauté chopped onion and garlic in olive oil until softened. Add spinach and cook until wilted. Let cool.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine ground meat, sautéed spinach mixture, Parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, eggs, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly.
  4. Form into meatballs and place them in the prepared baking dish.
  5. Spoon marinara sauce over the top and bake for 20 minutes.
  6. Remove from oven, top each meatball with shredded mozzarella, and return to the oven until the cheese melts and browns slightly, about 10 more minutes.
  7. Serve hot with extra sauce or alongside your preferred side dish.
