Cheesy Garlic Bread Buns combine fluffy homemade bread with savory garlic butter and gooey melted cheese for a delightful, shareable twist on classic garlic bread. Perfect as a side dish or snack.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water or milk
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese
  • 1 tsp dried parsley or Italian herbs

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm water or milk with sugar and yeast. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and knead until a soft dough forms.
  3. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  4. Divide the dough into 10–12 equal portions and roll into balls. Place on a greased baking sheet.
  5. In a small saucepan, melt butter with minced garlic and dried herbs.
  6. Brush the garlic butter over the buns and sprinkle with shredded cheese.
  7. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15–18 minutes, or until the buns are golden brown and cheese is bubbly.
  8. Let cool slightly and serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.
