This Cherry Chocolate Cheesecake Indulgence is the ultimate dessert for chocolate and cheesecake lovers! A rich red velvet chocolate base layered with creamy vanilla cheesecake and topped with a luscious cherry compote. Finished with fresh berries, this indulgent treat is perfect for special occasions!

For the Chocolate Base:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp red food coloring (optional)

For the Cheesecake Layer:

  • 16 oz (450g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup sour cream

For the Cherry Topping:

  • 1 cup cherries (fresh or frozen)
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp cornstarch + 1 tbsp water (for thickening)

For Garnish:

  • Fresh raspberries and blueberries

Instructions

  • Make the Chocolate Base: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Mix dry ingredients in one bowl and wet ingredients in another. Combine and mix until smooth. Pour into a greased springform pan and bake for 15 minutes. Let cool.
  • Prepare the Cheesecake Layer: Beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla and sour cream. Pour over the chocolate base.
  • Bake the Cheesecake: Lower oven temperature to 325°F (160°C). Bake for 45-50 minutes until the center is slightly jiggly. Let cool completely, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
  • Make the Cherry Topping: Simmer cherries, sugar, and lemon juice in a saucepan. Mix cornstarch with water and stir into the sauce to thicken. Let cool.
  • Assemble: Spread cherry topping over the cheesecake and garnish with fresh berries.
