Rich, dense, and ultra-chocolatey fudge brownies with a crackly top and a moist, gooey center, perfect for chocolate lovers.

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips or chunks

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the butter in a saucepan or microwave and allow it to cool slightly.
  3. Whisk the melted butter with sugar until well combined.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, whisking well after each addition, then stir in vanilla extract.
  5. Sift in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  8. Bake for 22–25 minutes, until the edges are set and the center is slightly soft.
  9. Allow brownies to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

  • Do not overbake for fudgy brownies.
  • For extra richness, use dark chocolate chips.
  • Brownies can be stored in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
