A heavenly combination of citrus and chocolate, this Chocolate Orange Delight Cake features rich chocolate layers with a luscious orange cream filling.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • 1 cup heavy cream

 

  • 1 1/2 cups dark chocolate, melted

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease two 9-inch cake pans.
  • Mix flour, cocoa, baking soda, and sugar.
  • Whisk eggs, oil, buttermilk, orange juice, and zest.
  • Combine wet and dry ingredients, then bake for 30 minutes.
  • Prepare ganache by heating cream and mixing it with melted chocolate.

 

  • Layer cake with orange cream and top with ganache.

Notes

  • Garnish with candied orange slices for extra flair.
