This Chocolate Peanut Butter Layer Cake is the ultimate dessert, featuring moist chocolate cake with creamy peanut butter frosting between each layer.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

 

  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease two 9-inch cake pans.
  • Mix flour, cocoa, baking soda, and sugar.
  • Beat eggs, buttermilk, and oil. Combine with dry ingredients and add hot water.
  • Bake for 30 minutes. Cool completely.
  • Beat peanut butter, butter, and powdered sugar for frosting.

 

  • Layer cake with peanut butter frosting. Melt chocolate and heavy cream for ganache topping.

Notes

  • Add chopped peanuts for extra crunch.
