This Chocolate Peanut Butter Tart with Candy Topping is a rich, decadent dessert featuring a chocolate cookie crust, creamy peanut butter filling, silky chocolate ganache, and a fun topping of assorted candies. Perfect for celebrations or special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 24 chocolate sandwich cookies (like Oreos)
  • 5 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Assorted candies (peanut butter cups, M&M’s, chocolate pieces, etc.) for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Crush the chocolate sandwich cookies in a food processor until fine crumbs form. Mix with melted butter until combined.
  3. Press the mixture into the bottom and sides of a tart pan. Bake for 8–10 minutes, then let cool completely.
  4. In a mixing bowl, beat together the peanut butter, cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  5. Spread the peanut butter filling evenly into the cooled crust and chill for 15 minutes.
  6. Meanwhile, heat the heavy cream until just simmering. Pour over the chocolate chips and let sit for 1–2 minutes. Stir until smooth to make the ganache.
  7. Pour the ganache over the chilled peanut butter layer and smooth the top.
  8. Top with assorted candies before the ganache sets. Chill the tart until firm, about 1–2 hours.
  9. Slice and serve chilled or at room temperature.

Notes

  • Use any combination of your favorite candies for the topping.
  • The tart can be made a day in advance and stored in the fridge.
  • For a clean slice, dip a knife in hot water and wipe between cuts.
