Soft sugar cookies with a rich, fudgy chocolate swirl—these irresistible cookies are both beautiful and delicious!

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup melted dark chocolate

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • In another bowl, beat butter and sugar until fluffy.
  • Add egg and vanilla, mixing well.
  • Gradually mix in dry ingredients.
  • Divide dough in half and mix melted chocolate into one half.
  • Roll both doughs together into a log, then slice into cookies.

 

  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, then cool on a rack.

Notes

  • Chill dough for 30 minutes before slicing for cleaner swirls.

 

  • Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
