Ingredients
Scale
8 cups popped popcorn (about 1/3 cup unpopped kernels)
3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp salt
Optional: 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
Pop the popcorn using your preferred method (air-popper, stovetop, or microwave) and place in a large mixing bowl. Remove any unpopped kernels.
In a small bowl, combine the sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
Drizzle the melted butter and vanilla extract (if using) over the popcorn, tossing gently to coat evenly.
Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the buttered popcorn, tossing again to evenly distribute the coating.
Serve immediately or store in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
Notes
For extra crunch, spread coated popcorn on a baking sheet and bake at 250°F (120°C) for 20 minutes, stirring halfway through.
Use coconut oil instead of butter for a dairy-free version.
Add a pinch of nutmeg or pumpkin spice for seasonal variation.
