Ingredients
Scale
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 cup granulated sugar (for topping)
1 tsp ground cinnamon (for topping)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and powdered sugar until smooth and fluffy.
Add vanilla extract and mix to combine.
Gradually add in the flour and salt, mixing until a soft dough forms.
Press the dough evenly into the prepared baking dish.
In a small bowl, mix the granulated sugar and cinnamon together.
Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar evenly over the pressed dough.
Using a knife or bench scraper, score the dough into small bite-sized squares (about 1 inch).
Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
Remove from oven and re-cut along the score lines while warm.
Allow to cool completely in the pan before serving or packaging.
