Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz fettuccine or spaghetti
  • 2 tbsp butter

  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter.
  3. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1–2 minutes to form a roux.
  5. Slowly add the milk and heavy cream while whisking to avoid lumps.
  6. Cook and stir until the sauce thickens, about 5–7 minutes.
  7. Add the Parmesan cheese and stir until melted and smooth.
  8. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  9. Add the cooked pasta to the sauce and toss to coat evenly.
  10. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use freshly grated Parmesan for best flavor and texture.
  • You can add grilled chicken, shrimp, or vegetables for variation.
  • Adjust sauce thickness by adding more milk if needed.
  • For extra richness, substitute some milk with more heavy cream.
