Creamy Parmesan Chicken with Mushrooms is a rich, comforting dish made with tender chicken breasts smothered in a savory Parmesan cream sauce with sautéed mushrooms. Perfect for a cozy dinner.

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add chicken and cook for 6-7 minutes per side or until golden and cooked through. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, melt butter and add mushrooms. Cook for 5-6 minutes until browned and tender.
  4. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  5. Pour in heavy cream, stir in Parmesan cheese, thyme, and red pepper flakes if using. Simmer for 2-3 minutes until sauce thickens slightly.
  6. Return chicken to skillet and spoon sauce over the top. Simmer for another 2-3 minutes until heated through.
  7. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.

  • Use a meat thermometer to ensure chicken reaches 165°F (74°C).
  • Serve with pasta, rice, or mashed potatoes for a heartier meal.
