Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 slices thick or regular-cut bacon
  • Optional: freshly cracked black pepper
  • Optional: brown sugar
  • Optional: maple syrup
  • Optional: chili flakes
  • Optional: smoked paprika

Instructions

  1. Preheat air fryer to 200 °C (400 °F).
  2. Arrange bacon strips in a single layer in the air fryer basket or tray—avoid overlapping.
  3. Cook for 6–8 minutes (regular-cut) or 8–10 minutes (thick-cut) until edges start crisping.
  4. Flip each strip with tongs and cook an additional 4–6 minutes (regular-cut) or 6–8 minutes (thick-cut) until desired crispness.
  5. Optional: In last 2 minutes, brush with maple syrup or sprinkle with brown sugar/chili flakes for flavor twist.
  6. Remove bacon and place on paper towels to drain excess grease.
  7. Serve warm or store for later use.

Notes

  • Cook in batches to avoid overlapping strips.
  • Use parchment liners with holes to reduce cleanup.
  • Check doneness early to prevent over-crisping.
  • Save rendered fat for cooking eggs or vegetables.
