Crispy Fried Potato Bites are golden, crunchy pieces of potato that are perfectly seasoned and fried to irresistible perfection. They are ideal as a snack, appetizer, or side dish and are sure to be a hit at parties, family dinners, or whenever you crave something satisfyingly crunchy.

Ingredients

  • Potatoes, peeled and cut into bite-sized pieces
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Garlic powder (optional)
  • Paprika (optional)
  • All-purpose flour or cornstarch (for coating)
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add the potato pieces and parboil for about 5-7 minutes until just tender. Drain and let cool slightly.
  2. In a bowl, toss the potatoes with flour or cornstarch, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika until evenly coated.
  3. Heat oil in a deep skillet or fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  4. Fry the potatoes in batches until golden and crispy, about 3-5 minutes per batch.
  5. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  6. Sprinkle with additional salt if desired and garnish with fresh parsley. Serve hot with your favorite dip.

Notes

  • Spicy bites: Add cayenne pepper or chili powder to the coating.
  • Herbed bites: Toss with dried oregano, thyme, or rosemary after frying.
  • Cheesy option: Sprinkle with grated Parmesan immediately after frying.
  • Air-fried version: Cook in an air fryer at 400°F (200°C) for 15-18 minutes, shaking halfway through.
  • Storage: For best texture, serve fresh. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in the oven at 375°F (190°C) to regain crispness. Freezing is not recommended as the potatoes may become soggy upon thawing.
