Crispy Honey Butter Chicken Bites are golden-fried, juicy chicken pieces coated in a sweet and savory honey butter glaze, perfect for sharing or serving as a delicious main course.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • Oil for frying (vegetable, canola, or peanut oil)
  • For the honey butter glaze:
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken pieces with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  2. In one bowl, mix flour and cornstarch. In another, beat the eggs.
  3. Dredge each chicken piece in the flour mixture, dip in egg, then coat again in the flour mixture. Press coating firmly for best results.
  4. Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C). Fry chicken in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 4–5 minutes per batch. Drain on paper towels.
  5. In a small saucepan, melt the butter. Add honey, soy sauce, and minced garlic. Simmer for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.
  6. Toss the fried chicken bites in the warm glaze until evenly coated.
  7. Serve immediately, garnished with green onions or sesame seeds if desired.

Notes

  • Add chili flakes or hot sauce to the glaze for a spicy twist.
  • To bake instead of fry, bake coated chicken at 400°F (200°C) for 20–25 minutes, flipping once.
  • Reheat in the oven or air fryer for best texture—avoid microwaving.
  • Double-coating and resting the breaded chicken before frying increases crispiness.
