Ingredients

  • 4 medium Yukon gold or russet potatoes

  • 3 tbsp melted butter or olive oil

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/2 tsp paprika

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • Fresh herbs (rosemary, thyme, or parsley), optional

  • Parmesan cheese (optional, for sprinkling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. Using a mandoline, slice potatoes very thin (about 1/8-inch or less).

  3. Toss slices in melted butter or oil with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.

  4. In a circular baking dish or cast iron skillet, start layering potato slices from the outside inward in overlapping spiral circles, forming a rosette.

  5. Bake uncovered for 45–55 minutes or until edges are crisp and center is tender.

  6. Optional: Sprinkle with Parmesan and fresh herbs before serving.

Notes

  • Use a muffin tin for mini individual spirals.

  • For extra crispness, broil the top for the last 3–5 minutes.

  • Serve as a side dish or centerpiece appetizer.
