1/2cup unsalted butter, melted
1/2cup brown sugar, packed
1/4cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 and 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Vanilla ice cream, for serving
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 6- or 8-inch oven-safe skillet or baking dish.
In a medium bowl, whisk together melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until fully combined.
In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
Gradually stir dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
Fold in chocolate chips.
Press the dough evenly into the prepared skillet or dish.
Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the center is just set but still soft.
Let cool for 5–10 minutes before topping with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and serving warm.
Notes
Don’t overbake if you want a gooey center.
You can substitute chocolate chips with chunks or mix in white/milk chocolate for variety.
Serve directly from the skillet for a rustic presentation.
