Everything Cookies are chewy, buttery cookies packed with a mix of sweet and salty add-ins like chocolate chips, pretzels, oats, coconut, and nuts — a fun and delicious treat that has a little bit of everything in every bite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup shredded coconut
  • 1/2 cup chopped pretzels
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
  • Optional: 1/2 cup butterscotch chips or M&M’s

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla, and beat until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Fold in oats, chocolate chips, coconut, pretzels, nuts, and any optional add-ins.
  6. Scoop dough into 2-tablespoon portions and place on prepared baking sheets, spacing 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 10–12 minutes or until edges are golden and centers are just set.
  8. Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

  • Customize add-ins based on what you have — dried fruit, toffee bits, or cereal work well too.
  • Chill dough for 30 minutes if cookies spread too much.
  • For bakery-style cookies, press a few extra mix-ins on top before baking.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week.
