Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 1 cup semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips
  • 1/2 teaspoon coconut oil (optional)
  • Assorted toppings (e.g., crushed nuts, sprinkles, shredded coconut, sea salt)

Instructions

  1. Slice bananas into thick rounds (about 1/2 inch).
  2. Place banana slices on a parchment-lined baking sheet and freeze for 30 minutes until firm.
  3. Melt chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring between each. Add coconut oil for smoother texture if desired.
  4. Dip banana slices into melted chocolate, coating fully or partially.
  5. Sprinkle immediately with chosen toppings while the chocolate is still wet.
  6. Return dipped banana bites to the baking sheet.
  7. Freeze for another 15–20 minutes or until the chocolate sets.
  8. Transfer bites to an airtight container and store in the freezer.

Notes

  • Try peanut or almond butter under the chocolate for added richness.
  • Drizzle with white chocolate for a double chocolate version.
  • Top with shredded coconut and a touch of pineapple juice for a tropical twist.
  • Add a pinch of sea salt for a sweet-salty flavor.
  • Let sit at room temp for 5 minutes before eating for a softer texture.
