These Fudgy Chocolate Brownies are rich, dense, and ultra-chocolatey with a crackly top and a dusting of powdered sugar for the perfect finishing touch.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
  3. Beat in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder until well combined. Stir in chocolate chips if using.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  5. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  6. Allow to cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.
  7. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

  • Do not overbake to maintain a fudgy texture.
  • For extra richness, add a handful of chopped walnuts or more chocolate chips.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
