- 4 large egg whites
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup rainbow sprinkles (jimmies)
- Frosting of choice (e.g., vanilla buttercream)

- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Add egg whites and vanilla extract; mix until combined.
- Mix in sour cream, then alternate adding milk and dry ingredients until just combined.
- Gently fold in rainbow sprinkles.
- Divide batter evenly between prepared pans and smooth the tops.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
- Frost with vanilla buttercream and decorate with additional sprinkles.
