Ingredients
Scale
1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed
2 tbsp olive oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 tsp salt (or to taste)
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Optional: lemon wedges for serving
Instructions
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add green beans and cook for 2–3 minutes until bright green and just tender. Drain and transfer to an ice bath to stop cooking. Drain again and pat dry.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
Add the green beans and sauté for 4–5 minutes until tender and lightly browned.
Season with salt and pepper, then remove from heat.
Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese and toss gently to coat.
Serve warm with lemon wedges if desired.
Notes
Use freshly grated Parmesan for the best flavor and texture.
Skip blanching for a crisper texture and longer sautéing time.
Great with roasted meats, pasta dishes, or as part of a holiday spread.
Leftovers can be reheated in a skillet or microwave.
