This Homemade Granola with Nuts and Dried Fruit is a crunchy, wholesome mix of oats, nuts, seeds, and sweet dried fruits. Perfect as a breakfast cereal, yogurt topping, or healthy snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 cup mixed nuts (almonds, walnuts, pecans), roughly chopped
  • 1/2 cup sunflower or pumpkin seeds
  • 1/2 cup shredded coconut (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup coconut oil or vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup dried fruit (raisins, cranberries, apricots, or a mix), chopped if large

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine oats, chopped nuts, seeds, coconut (if using), cinnamon, and salt.
  3. In a small saucepan over low heat, warm the oil and honey (or maple syrup) until just blended. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
  4. Pour the wet mixture over the dry ingredients and mix well to coat evenly.
  5. Spread granola in an even layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 25–30 minutes, stirring halfway through, until golden brown and fragrant.
  7. Remove from oven and let cool completely—it will crisp up as it cools.
  8. Once cooled, stir in dried fruit. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.

Notes

  • Customize with your favorite nuts, seeds, and fruits.
  • For chunkier granola, press it down before baking and don’t stir until fully cooled.
  • Add chocolate chips or coconut flakes after baking for extra flavor.
