Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/3 cup pizza sauce
  • 3 oz sliced ham, torn into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/4 cup black olives, sliced
  • 4 oz fresh mozzarella balls (bocconcini), halved
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for brushing crust)
  • Optional: fresh basil leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Stir in flour, salt, and 1 tablespoon olive oil. Knead for 5–7 minutes until smooth. Cover and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  3. Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C). Place a pizza stone or baking sheet in the oven to heat.
  4. Punch down dough and roll out on a floured surface into a very thin 12-inch circle.
  5. Carefully transfer dough to a piece of parchment paper. Spread pizza sauce evenly over the crust.
  6. Top with ham, black olives, and halved mozzarella balls. Sprinkle with oregano and brush edges with olive oil.
  7. Transfer pizza with parchment onto the hot stone or baking sheet. Bake for 10–12 minutes or until crust is golden and cheese is bubbling.
  8. Remove from oven and garnish with fresh basil if desired. Slice and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use a pizza stone for a crisper crust.
  • For extra flavor, infuse the olive oil with garlic before brushing on the crust.
  • Swap ham for prosciutto or salami for variation.
  • Dough can be made ahead and refrigerated overnight.
