Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 23 jalapeño peppers, stemmed (seeds removed for less heat, optional)
  • 1 cup fresh cilantro leaves
  • 2 medium tomatoes, chopped
  • 1/2 small onion, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 2 tbsp fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 tsp salt, or to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (optional)

Instructions

  1. Roughly chop the jalapeños, tomatoes, onion, garlic, and cilantro.
  2. Add all chopped ingredients to a food processor.
  3. Pulse until you reach your desired consistency, either chunky or smooth.
  4. Add lime juice and salt to taste, then pulse again briefly.
  5. Optional: Add olive oil for a richer texture and blend again.
  6. Chill the salsa for 30 minutes before serving to let flavors meld.

Notes

  • Use more jalapeños or substitute with serranos for extra heat.
  • Remove pepper seeds and ribs for a milder salsa.
  • Roast the jalapeños and tomatoes for a smoky variation.
  • Add avocado for a creamy twist.
  • Use parsley or mint if you prefer a different herb profile than cilantro.
