Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs (optional)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil for cooking

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, garlic, onion, parsley, oregano, thyme, salt, pepper, egg, and breadcrumbs if using. Mix until evenly incorporated, but do not overmix.
  2. Shape the mixture into evenly sized patties.
  3. Heat olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
  4. Cook the patties for 4–5 minutes on each side or until they are golden brown and fully cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F or 74°C).
  5. Remove from skillet and let rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Add red chili flakes or jalapeños for a spicy version.
  • Mix in feta cheese and olives for a Mediterranean twist.
  • Include ginger, scallions, and soy sauce for an Asian flavor.
  • Use grated zucchini instead of breadcrumbs for a low-carb option.
  • Store in refrigerator for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
