This pull-apart bread is a savory delight layered with crisp bacon, caramelized onions, cheese, and herbs—all baked into a golden, buttery loaf that’s perfect for sharing.

Ingredients

  • Bread dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • Bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • Onions, thinly sliced and caramelized
  • Shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a mix)
  • Butter, melted
  • Garlic, minced
  • Fresh parsley or chives, chopped
  • Salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a loaf pan or line with parchment.
  2. Roll out bread dough into a rectangle.
  3. Spread caramelized onions evenly, sprinkle bacon, cheese, garlic, herbs, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
  4. Slice dough into strips and stack into layers. Place vertically into the pan.
  5. Brush with melted butter and cover loosely.
  6. Bake for 35–40 minutes until golden and cooked through. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • Add jalapeños or red pepper flakes for spice.
  • Use ham or prosciutto instead of bacon.
  • Try different cheeses like gouda, gruyère, or parmesan.
  • Add mushrooms or spinach for a veggie boost.
  • Storage: Wrap in foil and refrigerate up to 3 days.
  • Reheat: Warm in oven at 180°C (350°F) for 10–15 minutes.
  • Freeze: Wrap cooled bread tightly and freeze up to 1 month; thaw and reheat in oven.
