1 cup unsalted butter, softened
3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup M&M candies
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
Fold in chocolate chips and M&M candies.
Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and centers are still soft.
Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Press a few extra M&Ms on top of each cookie dough ball before baking for a more colorful appearance.
Do not overbake to keep the cookies soft and chewy.
