A golden, flaky puff pastry roll filled with seasoned ground meat and melted cheese, perfect as a party appetizer or a comforting me

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef or sausage
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a pan, cook the ground meat with onions, garlic, and seasonings. Let cool.
  • Roll out the puff pastry and spread the cooked meat evenly. Top with cheese.
  • Roll the pastry tightly and seal the edges.
  • Brush with egg wash and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  • Let cool slightly, then slice and serve.

Notes

  • Swap cheddar for mozzarella for a gooey texture.
  • Serve with a dipping sauce like marinara or ranch.
