Ingredients

  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 small green cabbage, shredded
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise or Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 8 small corn or flour tortillas
  • Lime wedges, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, toss shrimp with olive oil, chili powder, paprika, cumin, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. Set aside to marinate for 10 minutes.
  2. In another bowl, mix shredded cabbage, cilantro, mayonnaise (or yogurt), lime juice, honey, and garlic powder. Chill until ready to use.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook shrimp for 2-3 minutes per side, until opaque and cooked through.
  4. Warm tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave.
  5. Assemble tacos by placing cooked shrimp into tortillas, topping with cilantro lime slaw.
  6. Serve with extra lime wedges.

  • Adjust cayenne to control the heat level.
  • You can substitute shrimp with grilled fish or tofu for variation.
