Ingredients

Scale
  • Dough:
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • Strawberry Filling:
  • 2 cups diced strawberries (fresh or frozen)
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • Strawberry Glaze:
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 23 tbsp strawberry puree or strawberry jam
  • 12 tbsp milk (as needed)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and sugar. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add melted butter, egg, and salt. Mix well.
  3. Gradually add flour until a soft dough forms. Knead for 5–7 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. For the filling, cook strawberries, sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, and cinnamon in a saucepan over medium heat until thickened. Cool completely.
  6. Roll out the dough into a large rectangle about 1/4-inch thick.
  7. Spread the strawberry filling evenly over the dough.
  8. Roll up tightly from the long side and slice into 12 rolls.
  9. Place rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let rise for 20–30 minutes.
  10. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake rolls for 22–25 minutes or until lightly golden.
  11. For the glaze, whisk powdered sugar with strawberry puree and milk until smooth.
  12. Drizzle glaze over warm rolls and serve.

Notes

  • Ensure the strawberry filling cools before spreading to prevent dough from becoming soggy.
  • Use strawberry jam if you need a quicker filling option.
  • Add cream cheese to the glaze for a richer topping.
  • For brighter color, add a drop of natural red food dye.
