Strawberry Puff Pastry Tart is a simple yet elegant dessert made with a flaky puff pastry base, a sweet cream cheese filling, and fresh strawberries, perfect for spring and summer gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon zest (optional)
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon honey or apricot jam (for glaze)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and transfer to the baking sheet. Score a 1/2-inch border around the edges without cutting through.
  3. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, sugar, vanilla extract, and lemon zest until smooth.
  4. Spread the cream cheese mixture inside the scored border of the pastry.
  5. Arrange sliced strawberries over the cream cheese filling.
  6. Brush the edges of the pastry with beaten egg for a golden finish.
  7. Bake for 15–18 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed and golden brown.
  8. While the tart is still warm, brush the strawberries with warmed honey or apricot jam to glaze.
  9. Let cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar if desired. Slice and serve.

Notes

  • Use other fruits like blueberries, raspberries, or peaches for variety.
  • For extra crunch, sprinkle sliced almonds on top before baking.
  • Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for a richer dessert.
