Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 pound scallops or seafood mix
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1/4 cup white wine (optional)
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (mozzarella or cheddar)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 crusty round bread bowls, tops removed and hollowed out

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Sauté garlic and onion in butter in a skillet over medium heat until fragrant and translucent.
  3. Stir in flour and cook for 1-2 minutes to create a roux.
  4. Slowly whisk in the heavy cream and white wine (if using), stirring until the sauce is smooth.
  5. Add salt and pepper to taste, and let the sauce simmer for 3-4 minutes.
  6. Stir in shredded cheese and mix until melted and creamy.
  7. Add shrimp and scallops to the sauce and cook until just done, about 3-5 minutes.
  8. Spoon the seafood mixture into the prepared bread bowls.
  9. Place bread bowls on a baking sheet and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the tops are bubbly and golden.
  10. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.
